Real estate is one of the greatest investments a person can make. Real estate investments has created more wealth for individuals than any other form of investment. The key to becoming a good real estate investor is to build the right team. Unlike stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other similar investments, you will want to set up a team. This team should consist of the following:
- Real Estate Agent- This is your eyes, ears, and footman.
- Real Estate Lawyer- This person will write and review contracts and ensure that any deal you do will be within the guidelines of the law. Also handle litigation if needed (Hopefully never will)
- Accountant/CPA- Find someone who is knowledgable in real estate and business practices and can help you perform calculations when you find an investment property.
- Financial Planner- This person will help guide you in your decisions to help keep you on track for your goals. Find one with one of the following designations CFP (Certified Financial Planner), ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), or CPA with PFS (Certified Public Accountant certified as Personal Finance Specialist).
- Title Insurance Company- They verify that your property titles are clear of any liens or encumbrances and ensure all documents are in place, properly signed, recorded, and distributed to all parties.
